Williamson
John
Williamson was born and raised in a small farming community in
the Mallee, before moving to northern New South Wales.
John's first song, "Old Man Emu", reached No. 1 on the
national charts and launched his very successful career as a songwriter
and entertainer. His concerts have been described as a "journey
around Australia in song".
John has released
29 albums, 8 videos and 3 books. He has received some 18 Golden
Guitar Awards (Country Music), 8 Mo Awards (Entertainment Industry),
2 ARIA Awards (Record Industry) and has been honoured with an
AM (Member of the Order of Australia) for services to Australian
Country Music and for stimulating conservation awareness.
