We
have always had a great love of the bush - our first 'date' was
a bushwalk to a mountain waterfall overhanging with tree ferns.
That was eleven years ago, and even though we have been camping
and exploring together ever since, it seems we have barely touched
the surface of what Australia has to show us.
Being
in the bush is very healing - and we began wondering whether other
people would enjoy the sounds of the bush as much as we were.
So 7 years ago, we established our business; 'Listening Earth',
to share that experience. At the time it seemed an unlikely thing
to do - create CDs without any music on them, but we have followed
our passion and it has proved the right thing for us to do.
Every
one of our CDs begins with a journey. People often think we have
great holidays on our field trips. Well, we certainly enjoy our
time exploring nature, but obtaining the quality of material we
strive for takes patience and perseverance. We have taught ourselves
most of what we know; not only about the bush but also the techniques
of our art. We now live surrounded by native bush near the central
Victorian town of Castlemaine. Recently we moved into our new
mud-brick home, and it is from here that we run our office and
sound studio, all powered exclusively by solar electricity! So
come and experience some of our life, at home and in the bush...
